Recognizes the potential for advance care planning to promote the autonomy of patients with mental illness; (New HOD Policy) and 2. Urges the mental health community to continue to study the role of advance care planning in therapeutic relationships and the use of psychiatric advance directives to promote the interests and well-being of patients.
