The Howling Scout Adventures Fordell Friday 2nd - Sunday 4th September 2022 Booking Process 2022 The Howling is a yearly national Cub Camp, open to Cub Scout Packs from across Scotland. It is hugely popular, in previous years, we have decided to change the booking process. Ultimately, we can only accommodate 525 Cubs plus Leaders. Dates Friday 2nd September 2022 (from 6.30pm) to Sunday 4 th September 2022 (from 2pm) Location Scout Adventures Fordell Firs, Hillend, Dunfermline Cost   Cubs £60 Adults, Young Leaders and Other Children £25 Facilities This is a fully catered Camp. Leaders need only bring Camping tents. Catering will take place in a central marquee. Transport Transport is not provided; packs will need to make their own arrangements. Packs may wish to consider and application to the Scottish Scout Adventures Centres Travel Fund, details here: https://www.scouts.scot/members/funding/ Programme The Camp is fully programmed; it’s a weekend full of 7 Activity Sessions, Campfire, Full Moon Fun Fair and Camping with 525 other Cubs from all over Scotland. The Camp is split into Sub camps, and each Cub will a fantastic opportunity to meet other Cubs from across Scotland. Leaders / Adults Under the rules of The Scout Association, all adults attending must have a current PVG membership obtained through The Scout Association at the time of the camp and have valid Safety and Safeguarding. Further details are available from your Group Scout Leader, District Appointments Secretary or District Commissioner. All adults attending will be expected to help run parts of the programme with full instruction from the Camp Organisers Application Process Pack applications to the Howling 2022 will use a ballot, this will give Packs a fair and equal chance of attending. The weighted ballot previously will not be used in 2022, as there was no camp in 2020 and 2021 so no Cub will have attended The Howling previously All Cub Packs who wish to enter the ballot will have until Saturday 2 nd April 2022 to complete the online application form. No money is required at this stage. No applications will be taken after this point We will the draw the ballot and contact all those who completed the form to let them know if they were successful or not. Only if successful, should money be collected from Cubs. It is essential that you only confirm your pack’s attendance to your young people if you have confirmation of attendance from us. Payment Deadlines: By 05/04/2022– Packs will be emailed to tell them if they have been successful or not.
