An important message for people living with disability Vaccination is available at over 2,000 locations across Victoria at GPs, pharmacies, pop-up clinics and state vaccination centres. From 7 October 2021, people with disability can attend a state-run vaccination centre without an appointment. If you notify staff that you have a disability, you will not have to wait in a queue and will be prioritised to receive your vaccination. To find a state vaccination centre and opening times, visit coronavirus.vic.gov.au People with a disability may also choose to get vaccinated at a state-run centre by booking an appointment online or through the Coronavirus hotline on 1800 675 398. If you need additional support to receive a vaccination, a Disability Liaison Officer can help you. You can get help from a Disability Liaison Officer The Disability Liaison Officers (DLOs) help people with a disability access vaccination. Support can be provided to: book a COVID-19 vaccination organise group bookings for service providers or groups of people with disability get a vaccination if you’re not able to attend a vaccination centre. [email protected] Vaccination centres with enhanced accessibility Nine Victorian vaccination centres have enhanced accessibility, including hearing augmentation devices and communication tools: Ballarat Mercure Hotel and Convention Centre Bendigo Health COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic Cranbourne Turf Club Geelong - Former Ford Factory Melbourne Showgrounds Royal Exhibition Building Shepparton Showgrounds – McIntosh Centre Traralgon Racecourse Wodonga Vaccination Hub. OFFICIAL Vaccination at a drive through vaccination centre For some people with a disability vaccination at a drive through centre will be a good option. There are now four drive-through vaccination centres operating in Victoria. They are located at: Ford Complex (Campbellfield) – 358 Barry Road Sandown Racecourse (Springvale) – 591-659 Princes Highway Former Bunnings (West Melton) – 149 Barries Road Wyndham Drive-Through Vaccination Clinic (Werribee) – 35 Ballan Road. Additional support for people living with disability From 7 October 2021, the Victorian Government will provide further support for people with disability to get vaccinated. 10 pop-up dedicated disability vaccination centres will be available in priority local government areas. These pop-ups will include some vaccination centres designed to meet the needs of autistic people. Locations and dates of pop up clinics will be available at https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/vaccination-centres Vaccine Ambassador Program will be expanded to include leading disability advocacy bodies to work with the Department of Health and provide referrals to the Disability Liaison Officer Program. Disability Liaison Officer Expansion program to boost capacity to assist people with disability to access COVID-19 vaccination. Victoria’s Disability Liaison Officers (DLOs) act as vaccination case managers and have helped 6,000 people get vaccinated by arranging in-home vaccination, group bookings, advice, or other forms of support. This program will also be expanded adding an additional 16 officers so it can continue to support referrals over the coming months.
