Community Art Project Barry County Community Mental Health Authority is announcing a Community Art Project open to all individuals in Barry County. Our goal is to create a welcoming atmosphere that inspires recovery through art. Barry County artists are invited to show their creativity and passion for mental health awareness and recovery. Theme: Hope Dates to submit work: April 25th 8:30 AM - April 29th 5:00 PM Two groups: under 18 years old and over 18 years old All entries should contain family friendly content and portray a positive and encouraging message to motivate and inspire individuals and their families on their pathway to recovery. Mediums may include photography, paintings, pastel, pencil, charcoal, mixed media, and other forms that can be hung in the hallways and rooms of BCCMHA. Each entered piece must have an Artist Submission Entry Form. A committee of BCCMHA board members, staff, and recipients will review submitted works and selections for permanent display will be announced in the Hastings Reminder on May 21 st. Entries that are incomplete or do not adhere to the rules or specifications may be disqualified. Mediums may include photography, paintings, pastel, pencil, charcoal, mixed media, and other forms that can be hung in the hallways and rooms of BCCMHA. All entries must be original pieces. If the content of your entry is claimed to constitute an infringement of any proprietary or intellectual proprietary rights of any third party, you shall, at your sole expense, defend or settle against such claims. Each entered piece of artwork must have an Artist Submission Entry Form. No more than 2 pieces of art may be submitted per artist. Submitted artwork must be one of the following sizes: 5” x 7” 8” x 10” 11” x 14” 16” x 20” 18” x 24” 22” x 28” 24” x 36” 27” x 40” Selected artwork will be framed and displayed in BCCMHA. Artist submissions will be divided into two groups: under 18 years old and over 18 years old. There will be 3 selected per age group. BCCMHA will be accepting entries during hours of operation Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 5 PM starting April 25th to April 29th. The selection committee is comprised of BCCMHA staff, BCCMHA board members, and community members. BCCMHA will announce the selections in the Hastings Reminder on May 21 st. All entries not selected for display must be picked up by May 31 st.
