Rules 1.1 1.2 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing. The Sail Canada Code of Conduct applies to athletes and support persons, such as coaches and parents, at all times and infractions will be subject to action by the protest committee. The Regatta will be subject to any COVID-related regulations of the Province of Nova Scotia that are in effect at the time and infractions may result in administrative dismissal from the BBYC grounds or the field of play without reference to the protest committee. Racing Rules will be changed as follows: 1.4.1 Rule 40.1 applies at all times while afloat. 1.4.2 The Sailing Instructions will amend Rules 41 and 90.2(c) for the Green Fleet. 1.3 1.4 2. Sailing Instructions SIs will be online at www.bbyc.ca no later than August 18th. Competitors are reminded to secure the SIs for the fleets and courses on which they sail. 3. Communication 3.1 The official notice board will be online only, located here. 3.2 Coach boats shall carry a VHF radio capable of communicating on channel TBD so they are available for emergency situations. 4. Eligibility, Entry, and Fees 4.2 4.3 4.4 4.5 4.6 4.1 The Regatta is open to eligible participants in the following classes provided a minimum of five paid registrations are received by August 16, 2021. If five paid entries are not received, entries will be refunded in full or entrants may transfer to another class for which they are eligible:  International 420  Club 420  Laser Standard (ILCA 7)  Laser Radial (ILCA 6)  Laser 4.7 (ILCA 4)  Optimist  29er  Green Fleets (Recreational racing, not scored) o Optimist o Club 420 The Regatta is open to eligible Sail Able class participants, regardless of the number of registrants. ARK will host the Sail Nova Scotia Provincial Under 15, Under 18, Laser, Laser Radial, Laser 4.7, and Double Handed Championships. Competitors must provide proof of age at the time of registration by means of government issued documentation (such as a birth certificate), indicating that they are under the respective age for their competition class as of December 31, 2021. Competitors for all Nova Scotia Provincial Championships must be residents of Nova Scotia. Competitors shall register online at https://bedfordbasin.checklick.com/. On-site registration is not available due to Covid19 restrictions but there will be an area to sign in as well as get information. All information required must be received electronically by 5 PM on Friday August 20th. Coaches shall register with the Organizing Authority (OA) online at https://bedfordbasin.checklick.com/, providing the names and sail numbers of the competitors they are coaching, contact information during the event, and signed acceptance of Sail Canada’s Coaches Code of Conduct. The Coaches Code of Conduct is located here. Fees for competitors are: Online on or before August 10th: Single Handed Dinghies $100 per boat Double Handed Dinghies $170 per boat Online on or after August 11th: Single Handed Dinghies Double Handed Dinghies $115 per boat $190 per boat 4.7 Fees include provision of the following: 4.7.1 Breakfast and snacks both mornings and a regatta t-shirt. 4.7.2 Food will be handed out at the sign-in area each morning where competitors will be able to choose from bagels, muffins, fruits, granola bars, juices, etc. The OA recommends that coaches or parents handle on-water storage and delivery of the lunches. Competitors, coaches and parents should bring their own refillable water bottles. Water bottle fill stations will be provided on the grounds of BBYC and in coach boats. 4.8 Meeting special dietary needs is the responsibility of competitors, their coaches and/or parents. BBYC will endeavor to ensure its offered food program will be nut-free. 5.
