Answers to Frequently Asked Online Program Questions Financial Aid/Student Accounts How will William & Mary communicate with me? Once you deposit, your W&M address becomes your default email address. This is the official means of communication between the University administrative offices and students. Please log into your email frequently in order to make sure that you have received the most recent communication concerning upcoming deadlines, financial aid, billing, payment plans, etc. Is Financial Aid available to Online students? The Financial Aid Office awards loan eligibility to students up to the cost of attendance minus any other financial assistance such as an outside scholarship opportunity. Typically, the online programs are unable to offer any scholarship funding. Some students receive military or VA benefits. If you meet the eligibility requirements and are taking at least a half-time graduate course load (4 credit hours per semester), you qualify for student loans for the entire online tuition. Student loans can also cover your books, supplies and living expenses as necessary. How do I apply for federal student loans? 1. Submit the appropriate FAFSA for your entering term (W&M’s school code is 003705).* If you are beginning your program in spring or summer 2022, you will need to submit a 2021-22 FAFSA. You will also need to complete a Graduate Summer School Financial Aid Application to report your anticipated enrollment hours for the spring and/or summer semesters. Online Programs 2022 If you are beginning your program in fall 2022, you will need to submit a 2022-23 FAFSA. You will also need to complete a Graduate Student Enrollment Worksheet to report your anticipated enrollment hours for the fall, spring, and summer semesters. 2. Submit your domicile form (in-state tuition form) for the University Registrar’s Office. 3. Once your FAFSA and enrollment form are received, your financial aid offer will be packaged. Both your financial aid budget and aid will be based off of the enrollment hours you indicated. If there are any changes to your enrollment status, you must contact the financial aid office. You will receive an aid notification via email when it is ready for review. 4. Go to your Banner student account and “accept” your loan amount via MyWM. 5. Once you accept your loan(s), please make sure you also complete your entrance counseling and sign your Master Promissory Note for each loan at www.studentaid.gov. 6. After all steps are complete, the loans will be scheduled for automatic disbursement to your student account at the following times: If you are online business program, your aid will disburse on the second Friday after the first day of classes. If you are online education, your aid will disburse on the first day of the start of Session B classes. * Recommended filing dates are as follows: January entry – December 1, May entry – April 1, August entry – July 1 All requirements for loans must be completed and confirmed by the Financial Aid Office before the first day of classes each term. If you are unable to meet these deadlines, you may enroll in the payment plan or make a personal or credit card payment until your financial aid process has been completed and confirmed. Does William & Mary have a tuition payment plan? William & Mary has a Tuition Payment Plan that divides fall and spring semester tuition into monthly payments. We do not offer a payment plan during the summer term. How can I access my Student Account? You access your account through Banner self-service at https://my.wm.edu. Your student account charges, payments and eStatements can be viewed online in eServices. I am having difficulty logging into eServices to make a payment. Who do I contact to rectify the issue? It depends. If you have followed the instructions for logging into eServices via myWM, located on the Student Accounts website and still can’t access the system, then it may be a user id/password issue. If this is the case, then you would need to contact the Technology Support Center at support@wm.edu or (757)-221-4357.
