We are so happy that you are here. We can never take for granted the communal experience of live theatre, and we are grateful to be able to share this unique and soul-enriching art form with you. And grateful that you chose to be part of that experience. We wanted to let you know a little about an Arts Club initiative named for, and established by, our Artistic Director Emeritus Bill Millerd. In the early 1960s, the Koerner Foundation awarded Bill a grant to assist him in attending the National Theatre School. After 46 years as Artistic Managing Director at the Arts Club, Bill wanted to gift similar life-changing opportunities to other theatre artists. He seeded a fund with a significant donation that was then built up to an Arts Club Foundation endowment by hundreds of generous donors and a matching contribution from the Department of Canadian Heritage. The result is the Arts Club’s Bill Millerd Artist Fund. Its purpose is to assist B.C. theatre artists and arts workers with expenses related to unique opportunities that will advance their artistic development, such as professional development workshops/classes, mentorships or apprenticeships, residencies with theatre companies, or tuition costs to pursue professional training. To learn more about applying for the fund, and to read about past recipients of the fund, please check out our website. If you’re a local artist looking for this support, apply by March 11. And if you’d like to support the fund, please consider making a donation at artsclub.com or by calling a Development representative at 605.687.5315, ext. 847. All donations above $20 are tax-deductible, and your gift will help us support even more local artists. Thanks again for being with us here at the Arts Club. Your support warms our hearts. Enjoy the show!
