Dear Friends Firstly, please accept our apologies for not writing sooner. We do know many of you appreciate our letter and we will seek to get back into the routine of dropping you a line each week to let you know what is happening at St. Peter’s. Some happy news, James and Lindsay are getting married at St. Peter’s this Saturday at 12 noon. It is our first wedding of the year and very special because both James and Lindsay are very much part of the St. Peter’s Church family. They extend a warm welcome to everyone who would like to come along to the service so please do join them and there will be tea and cake for all afterwards. Some very sad news, Nick Colmer died in the early hours of Wednesday morning. Nick, a true gentleman who always showed great kindness, will be greatly missed and please prayer for Helen and their sons Chris and James and Nick’s sister Ursula. Nick’s funeral service will be on Monday 25 th April at 12:30 p.m. at St. Peter’s Church. We have been asked quite a few times what is happening over Easter? Well, for the next two weeks there will be no 4pm. However, this Sunday is Palm Sunday and will be a Family Service at 10 a.m. with songs from our Youth and Junior Choirs and a visiting donkey and we will attempt to parade around the church with palm branches. We think anything could happen but as ever all welcome. (There will be an 8 a.m. BCP as usual). On Easter Sunday, we will have an 8 a.m. BCP Holy Communion and children can join Eleanor and David at the Siebe Nature Reserve for an Easter Breakfast and early morning adventure. (Please contact Eleanor for further details). We will have our 10 a.m. Easter Sunday Service (CW Eucharist) followed by an Easter Egg Hunt in the Rectory Garden. Again, all are welcome. Please note there will NOT be an Evensong this month. We are reminded afresh at Easter that our faith rests upon God’s power and faithfulness. We look forward to sharing that wonderful refrain – “He is Risen, He is Risen Indeed.” May each and every one of us being given new hope and fresh grace this Easter to keep on keeping on and to know the grace and love of God in a new and special way. With love and prayers Adrian and Myfanwy
