El curso examinará una selección de textos bíblicos para entender a) la forma en la cual estos textos fueron construidos, transmitidos y canonizados en contextos socio-culturales religiosos y; b) la manera mediante la cual (mayormente) especialistas Latinos/as en el área de estudios bíblicos utilizan una hermenéutica bíblica cultural para reinterpretar estos textos desde contextos sociales y culturales característicos de la pastoral Latino/a. Course Description: This is an introductory course in reading the Bible from a cultural perspective. The course will examine a group of select biblical texts to understand a) the method in which the texts were constructed, transmitted, canonized within socio-cultural religion y b) the method in which certain Latin@ scholars in the biblical studies utilize biblical cultural hermeneutics to re-interpret these texts from a social and cultural context within the characteristics of a Latin@ pastor. Guillermo Ramírez Muñoz B 331 Lectura de la Biblia desde una perspectiva cultural Bosquejo y contenido del Curso: El curso familiarizará a los/as participantes con elementos básicos de la exégesis y hermenéutica bíblico-teológica contemporánea. Se han de explorar criterios de hermenéutica bíblica/teológica propuesto mayormente por autores/as Latinos/as para la interpretación de textos bíblicos. Se presentaran para la discusión ejemplos específicos de esta hermenéutica Latino/a y su uso para la formación de líderes en el contexto de la pastoral latino/a. Course Outline: This course will familiarize the participants with basic elements of exegesis and contemporary theological-biblical hermeneutics. We will explore criteria the biblical-theological hermeneutics proposed mainly by Latin@ authors for the interpretation of biblical texts. We will examine specific examples of the Latin@ hermeneutics and its use for the formation of pastors in the Latin@ context. Discern the personal biblical/theological hermeneutics utilized in the process of a biblical/theological reading.
